Dead Stag

The artwork was nominated to a hungarian competition and this is the attached description:


"The creation of my Dead stag titled artwork was influenced by two factors. One of the technical experimentation: the line, custom graphics, the frottage by the thread. The other is the further development of a personal system of symbols, happens to be a deer, and the displayed content of the visual world.
I founded the concept on the simple drawing of the thread: clean, the sheer line created visual world, which formed sometimes complicated, more closed pattern, elsewhere broad, open, freer space etched out of the available flat surface.
I also faced a very important technical problem while creating the frottage, which in turn gives the beauty of the process, and caused that so much I like it. It was the manipulation by the chance: the manifestation of characters hidden in the weaknesses of material. The material was several times exposed to external forces during the frottage, which ruled out the exact, perfect for graphic reproduction procedures. It could not be taken off the same drawing from the same thread, the thread has moved below the paper. In two cases, this move manifested most easily: when I put the paper on the thread, as well as drawing by the charcoal.
The ends of the thread, as the beginning and the end are shown on the artwork, meanwhile displayed the silhouette of a whole shape, as the being manifested in the space. The thread drawing do not dominate the plane, rather more cut-out portions of the plane, that express a lack and emptiness. The line helped me in shaping the character of the deer, as connecting and separating geometric form.
For me, a deer is the symbol of male being. This idea can be due to my rural-villager origin. For me, mostly the sequential events, which are taking place in the life of a stag, is occurring events in the life of a man. Including birth, which is a type predestination, then, from the calf age through changing in an adult one, till aging and death.
The present picture shows the tragedy, the death, which is also the part of the circle of life both of the people, both in the case of animals, but in both cases occur impairment. Merely displays it just as much as remains after the immediately occurred death of symbol, with which I want to be seen the man."
